What is Aeroseal and how does it repair duct leakage?

Aeroseal's duct sealing technology efficiently seals ductwork in both residential and commercial settings using a patented, non-toxic aerosol sealant. The process pressurizes duct systems, driving sealant particles precisely to leaks, sealing them from the inside out without coating the entire duct interior. Aeroseal’s advanced formula is very low tack, ensuring it only deposits where needed and maintains duct integrity. Monitored in real-time for coverage and effectiveness, this technology improves HVAC efficiency, air quality, and comfort. Suitable for nearly all homes*, it precisely meets duct sealing goals.

Our process to repair duct leakage:

Step 1:

Pre-Seal Measure:

We measure the air volume emitted at each register in every room before we start any repairs. This tells us how much conditioned air is entering your rooms. Our goal is to improve this by volume significantly*.

Step 2:

Prep:

All supply and return registers are taped over and the furnace/coils are isolated from the duct system

Step 3:

Connect:

The equipment is connected to the duct system via an inlet hole or directly through a register

Step 4:

Seal:

The computer-controlled equipment automatically sprays sealant through the pressurized ductwork, only filling cracks & holes

Step 5:

Certify:

Aeroseal equipment is disconnected, any access holes are patched and the Seal Certificate is created to record the results

Step 6:

Post-Seal Measure:

With duct repairs complete, we again measure the air volume emitted at each register in every room. We calculate the pre-seal and post-seal difference in % and CFMs.

Footnotes

* Cannot be used in homes that have asbestos materials or products present in their ductwork.

** Results are unique to your home and your equipment. In most cases, we do increase air volume but we do not guarantee air volume will increase.
